Research Centers
Rensselaer offers comprehensive summer research opportunities for visiting undergraduate researchers from other institutions. Selected researchers will join a scholarly living community where they will engage in substantive research with Rensselaer faculty, attend professional development seminars, co-present their findings, and enjoy free time together.
The CURENT Engineering Research Center offers a 10-week Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program for visiting undergraduate researchers. Interested students should contact Elizabeth Herkenham in the School of Engineering at herkee2@rpi.edu or 518-276-6245 for details.
Our program gives you the opportunity to work side by side with our faculty and graduate students in Rensselaer's Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies to investigate a broad range of important and interesting problems at the forefront of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering.
The REU for Bioengineering and Biomanufacturing will not be offered in Summer 2022, but we hope to offer it in Summer 2023.
The program is based in Troy, New York. We will consider all applicants, but most strongly encourage students from colleges without graduate research programs and students in STEM under-represented groups to apply.
