Sustainability Studies (B.S.), Technology, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship (M.S.)

Hometown: Norfolk, Virginia

Research: I conducted research at Tamarac Elementary School looking into their efforts to be Green Ribbon School certified through the USDE.

Activities outside of class:   Currently I am the president of my sorority, president of the Undergraduate Council that coordinated between the four class councils, a member of the Student Sustainability Task Force, Green Greeks, and I previously played on the rugby team.

Favorite class: My favorite class I’ve taken at RPI was American Politics in Crisis with Langdon Winner. Professor Winner is an amazing intellectual and has made several notable contributions to the social sciences. His insights were invaluable and he has such a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. We also got to watch The Wire which didn’t hurt either!

Favorite thing to do in Troy:  My favorite thing to do in Troy is eat! There are so many great places like Manory’s, the oldest restaurant in Troy and Psychedelicatessen, which just opened up a year ago. They’re always something new and exciting to do downtown, so I love to go walk around River Street and see what else Troy has to offer!

Anything else you’d like to share: My two fun facts I always love to share is that I’ve been a vegetarian for 10 years and I’ve never seen the movie Forrest Gump!
