Freshman Application Checklist

Business and Management-Law or Science, Technology, & Society-Law Programs (B.S./J.D.) Forms & Instructions

Instructions and requirements are the same as for Freshman, EXCEPT:

The annual application deadline is November 1. Please note that you cannot apply Early Decision to either accelerated law program, and the application is non-binding.

There is no separate application for these programs. You must use the Common Application or the Universal College Application, and select the “Regular Decision” option. Students may not apply to either accelerated law program using the Candidate’s Choice Application.

  • For the Business and Management-Law Program, you must select “Business and Management-Law Program-B.S./J.D.” on your application.
  • For the Science, Technology, & Society-Law Program, you must select “Science, Technology, & Society-Law Program-B.S./J.D.”.

Testing Requirements- Accelerated Law Programs
Rensselaer will require applicants to the accelerated law programs to submit EITHER:

  • The SAT AND two SAT Subject Tests (one in math and one in science-student’s choice)

OR

  • The ACT (including the writing portion)

Redesigned SAT (beginning in March 2016):
Rensselaer will require applicants to one of the accelerated law programs to submit EITHER:

  • The SAT (including the writing portion) AND two SAT Subject Tests (one in math and one in science-student’s choice)

OR

  • The ACT (including the writing portion)

Due to the nature of the program, please note that students enrolled in the Physician-Scientist Program or one of the accelerated law programs are not able to dual or double major.
