Co-Terminal Program (for current Rensselaer undergraduate students)

What Is It?

  • To better prepare undergraduate students to meet the growing demands of industry and the marketplace, Rensselaer allows RPI undergraduates to complete their Bachelor’s degree within eight semesters (ten for B. Some applicants choose to pursue a Master’s degree in the same academic discipline, while others take a more interdisciplinary approach, applying to a graduate program outside of their undergraduate department.  Students must apply before the end of the first semester of their senior year, but it is strongly recommended that students begin talking with their undergraduate advisor by their sophomore or junior year.
  • Co-terminal students graduate with a B.S. degree by the eighth semester (tenth for B. Arch students) and gain graduate student status for up to an additional two semesters two complete their graduate program.
