Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities for veterans. As a university with a strong history of collaboration with, and support of, the U.S. military, the Institute recognizes the sacrifice of each veteran and is prepared to invest in their success. Rensselaer will continue its long commitment to support of the armed services, dating back to the Civil War, by fully participating in the new “Yellow Ribbon” program of the G. I. Bill, as well as traditional veterans scholarship programs.
Rensselaer provides a number of courtesies to veteran applicants, including a streamlined application process (veterans are encouraged to self-identify on their application). This process will allow veterans to save time, with fewer questions and greater convenience. All veterans will be provided with notification of their financial aid award at the same time as they receive their admissions decision from Rensselaer. In addition, Rensselaer will waive the traditional application fee for veterans applying for either graduate or undergraduate programs. The Division of Enrollment will permit unofficial documents to be used to begin the admissions process. These can include transcripts, test scores, and government documents official documents must be sent to Rensselaer prior to a veteran’s enrollment as a student.
